Falmouth

We drove down to Falmouth this weekend to spend time with Paul & Frances, also with Lucy & Scott and their family. We rented a large house with a nice view and spent an enjoyable 48 hours hanging out together and visiting the surroundings.

Superb biking in the Falmouth area, notably the "Shining Sea" bike trail that runs north/south from Woods Hole up to North Falmouth. These pictures were taken on the southern end, where the path runs right next to the water:

Lots of wild rose bushes throughout the area-- very fragrant. Also quite a lot of poison ivy as well, however.

Here are some shots from Woods Hole itself-- the main drag into town actually has a bridge that lifts up periodically to let sailboats through:

Nautical decorations:

We had dinner in Woods Hole one night, also enjoyed the "Pie In the Sky" bakery while on our bike trip.

Ethan and Lydia enjoyed the back yard of the Falmouth house-- frisbee, catch, and croquet:

This shot I have decided to entitle "Frisbee Ballet with Tennis Ball and Swans in the Fog"-- I am sure that any day now I'm going to be getting a call from the Metropolitan or the Getty with an offer to purchase...

Tree climbing (in bare feet, yikes):

More family photos:

The photo below shows our two intrepid voyagers venturing out onto the pond in their rubber raft. The trip had to be cut short somewhat due to the fact that the vessel had a slow leak:

We played numerous games of pool:

It was a nice weekend; good to see everyone.
